Deck Description

The Goal:

Bant Midrange

The Means:

Trostani, Biomancer , Traft

The Fix:

Thragtusk+Restoration Angel life gain

How to Play

This deck is all about token production. Be it 2/2 Knights with vigilance, or 4/4 angels, it works to buff, populate and gain life from tokens. This has the capability to out preform even Naya Blitz by out dropping creatures. There are a few combos working in tandem all based around life gain. Thragtusk on it's own is enough to give you the game, throw in traft and you can give them some real trouble.

Trostani is your sitter, 2/5 is more than enough to stop any threat, if it is not, then you something she can populate will be. Drop your traft after your biomancer, unless of course you are hard pressed for creatures.

When you play traft, dont forget about trostani, seraph sanctuary, master biomancer, or vitu-ghazi which all combo with him very nicely.

If you start with a selesnya charm, keep it for the knights. If you draw it, keep it for either some trample or exiling something huge, say avacyn, another thargtusk, thundermaw hellkite, any of the late game killers.

Use simic charm to prevent some removal, black removal like victim of night is hard on this deck, but you don't have to worry to much about ultimate price. If hexproof isn't enough, it can return something to your hand. Usually trostani is the main card you want to save, but with three, you'll likely draw into more.

As always farseek for stomping grounds first, unless you are hard up for colors. The stomping grounds sets up for a wolf run later game. Wolf run and thragtusk have been more than enough to swing for lethal and usually saves me.

I actually own this deck, and I usually change out my field wipes depending on how I feel the competition is going to be. Supreme verdict is harsh on this deck, but for 4 it usually wipes around turn three if its in my starting hand, if not I never end up using it. Sudden Disappearance has worked out for better, but because of its cost, its a double edge sword. Simply because it doesn't come quick enough for aggro. If I am feeling I will be going up against Naya blitz or Boros X, I prepare mostly by siding out selesnya charm for negate, and Vitu-ghazi, I take out giest for Entreat, I keep simic charm for boros, but drop it for naya in favor of blind obedience (the extort helps) then I remove the other vitu-ghazi for a thrid blind obedience. I drop down to one garruk in favor for goldnight or the fourth blind obedience. Entreat+ next turn goldnight with serap sanctuary on the field is more than enough to give you game.

Lastly there are some opitonal cards, Don't like detention sphere? Try Nevermore! Or dissipate (the two blue for that makes it hard pressed)! Supreme verdict for a once sided wipe like blistersqul, sudden dissappearence? It could work. Giest is going out soon, so some replacements might be wayfaring temple or stuff in dragons gate.

Now, I keep up with the meta. I even keep up with the meta that isnt here yet. So What about Dragons maze?

2x Voice of Resurgence in place of Vitu-Ghazi
2x Render Silent in place of detention sphere (sideboard render)
2x Vorel Of Hull Clade in place of Geist of Saint Traft
Drop Serrap Sanctuary in place of Gavony Township (good thing I grabbed those before dragons maze... whoo...)

Optional;
Progenitor Mimic, or Trostani Summoner

Drop Kessig Wolf run and stomping grounds (Bye bye innistrad)
In its place run some mana fixing for the hinterland harbors you will be losing. The obvious choice is gates. The smart choice is just two more islands. Replace kessig with grove of the guardian.

As far as m13 goes? Who knows...

Deck discussion for Trostani, Flicker

This one took a bit to develop, longer to learn to play just right. Its potent. Its powerful. Its pretty cool when things work out.
That being said, you lose out on a lot of control options you have with bant. So just be careful, and be aware of your situation. I played every style of standard deck I could before making my choices. The only advice I can give, don't abandon late game, and hold on to your control cards unless you are confident that your opponent has no tricks. If you are aware of the styles you are going to face, this deck (even with its limited control options) is very very dangerous. If not, and you are going in blind, this wouldn't be my first choice. That being said, this is my main deck, I run it because I like the way it runs, and I am pretty aware of the common cards and what is a potential threat.

I really like GoST and Trostani together, and with Biomancer that's 6 life a swing. Cool beans. No room for Rhox?

Nope. And twelve if you populate the angel Traft Gets you. Rhox faithmender is cool, but then you might as well ask why I dont run the challace of life, and just make it total I gain you lose style of deck.
