Deck Description

Pretty simple, counter spell deck with some big sea monsters for late game. I have really enjoyed playing with this deck, particularly the cipher spells in combination with invisible stalker. All my games are casual so there aren't any limitations on what cards I can include.

How to Play

Ideally, you want both an invisible stalker and a hidden strings in your opening hand, along with a couple of counters. On turn two you play the stalker, on turn three you play hidden strings targeting the two lands used to cast hidden strings. Then cipher hidden strings onto the stalker, re-tap the two lands, (if you need to,) and attack with the stalker. When damage is dealt, untap the two lands. It is still turn three and you have five mana to use on your end step, or just use two of your mana to cast a kraken's eye, a pike or a fog bank and keep the remaining three open for your counters. As long as you keep very close watch on what is being played and what/when you use your mana this deck is very fast and has a lot of late game power.

Deck discussion for Kraken

for me I'd remove Kraken's Eye, Runechanter's Pike, Messenger Drake and some other cards and add cards like Ponder and Sage Owl for more control.
one more this it might help to replace Harbor Serpent with something with trample like Inkwell Leviathan
this isn't criticism just stuff i think might help the deck.

I like the idea of swapping the Harbor Serpent for an Inkwell Leviathan. The main reason for having the Serpent is because I had him when I built the deck and I didn't have to go and spend more money. I like the Sage Owl and Ponder. I'm not sure what to swap them for though. I have the Pike to boost my Stalker. If I am facing someone with massive destruction capabilities the Stalker is my best shot at victory. That said, I can't win dealing one damage at a time. Thus, the Pike is pretty essential. Kraken's Eye is my only source of life. If I am facing a direct damage deck I will have trouble winning with my enemy hitting me left and right for small quantities of damage. I can't possibly counter all the destruction or direct damage in some of these decks. So it seems that that also is essential. I have the Messenger Drake because I needed more flyers and card draw. I would like to replace him with ponder. But then I'm down a flyer. If you think I'm incorrect in my deductions please explain. I like your suggestions, I'm just trying to work out the mechanics in my head. Thanks for the Comment!

I understand what your saying. I remembered some card that might be of interest Wall of Frost, Roil Elemental, and Memory Erosion

Dang! That Roil Elemental is evil! Slap Hexproof on him and the game is yours. I think I'm going to swap him for the Voidwielder. I wont have as many creatures to return to my opponents hand when I'm stealing them. I think I'll also replace my Harbor Serpent with a couple Inkwell Leviathans. Thanks for the suggestions!
