Deck discussion for Animated Burial

Interesting concept, but why would you need to run red? And I don't really think you need more than 2 copies of Iona, shes a legendary plus with in a reanimate deck you rather not draw any of your reanimate cards, and I think quicksilver amulet is nice because it allows you to summon things from your hand and plus if someone play's grafdigger's cage you won't be screwed.

I splash red for the terminates since I can target any creature instead of artifacts. I run 4 iona and 4 sheodred because that almost guranteesz one of them in my starting hand. First hand if you have a reanimate and iona, don't play anything and you can bury her at the end of 1st turn cuz you'll have too many cards. Reanimatd her on turn 2 and your good with only 1 land out. Against decks that run lots of dooom blades and such, ill swap it that betrays for slagwurms and leviathans since they can't be targeted directly. I use ingot chewers for heavy artifact decks since u c,an convoke for 1 red mana and they also have flashback. Obliterators are just evil because they are extremely easy to get out. Faithlessz looting I use for card drawing and discarding. Works nice if u got 2 cards in your hand u want to bury

interesting concept with red instead of blue. Faithless Looting gives you the same draw/discard potential as Careful Study - actually it's even better because of the flashback. I can also see why you can run the Phyrexian Obliterators as you've clearly got more black mana than i do in my reanimator deck you've commented on. I still think that Elesh Norn and Blazing Archon are better choices vs weenie / aggro decks than Balefire Dragon.

oh and as you are running Sheoldred: have you thought of It that Betrays? ;) Some time ago i ran Buried Alive, Sheoldred, It that Betrays and Malfegor... which is brutal if you have the mana for buried alive and a renanimation spell!

It that betrays is nice but I run into a lot of ray of command and unsummons. I use iona 2 seal off whichever color will annoy me the most and that lmost always seals the game. If not sheodred or an obliterator is more than enough backup.

Elesh is nice but draws far more attention, costs a lot more to own too...lol.
