Play big creatures for little mana and bypass their negative effects thanks to spells and torpor orb. This deck is only legal in vintage, hence the 1 tinker and 1 tolarian academy. Sideboard advice is always welcomed. I have this actual deck an do quite well against most decks. I like using muddle because its their as a counter if I need it, if not I transmute to get tinker, then next turn tinker to a blightsteel.

With all the T2 Torpor decks I've seen, this is surprisingly the first Vintage. Either I haven't been paying attention (likely) or they just aren't common (also likely). Either way, this looks evil! A 12/12 trampler on turn one (assuming a black source and a Dark Ritual) is pretty damn sick!

Funny thing is I rarely need to combo 2 get blighsteel out. That's the only reason I run black too is for those rituals and the 7/7 wurms. Most of the time I use the blue spells to get something out by turn 2 pretty regular. I have trouble with decks that have lots of board wiping if I get off 2 a slow start pumping creatures out.
