Deck Description

This deck has gone through a couple versions. Originally it was creatureless, but I found that I consume mana at a faster pace per turn with this deck than my other decks, so I added myr in to fit the artifact theme. They are intended to smooth out this deck's early game a bit. The gemstone array provides a battery to store my mana so I can cast a ridiculous number of spells in one turn. This only works because my group plays a lot of multiplayer and it gets political.

Deck discussion for Unending magic

I'd think about adding some mystic speculation to help with the top decking of the memory crystals and your burn spells. And I think its a cool deck strategy, as most of the cards have like buyback 3 or something, so if you get two crystals out you get free buyback, which is super cool.

Thanks, I'm glad it sounds good. Mystic speculation matches well with the deck, but I'm on the fence about it. You are certainly right that it could get those spells out sooner, but it also takes up valuable deck space and mana expenditure. I think I will have to try the deck out a couple times before I get the sense of whether I have the space and mana to spare on that one.

This could do with either cheaper spells or the ability to generate much more mana. You could consider adding sol ring, thran dynamo, mind stone or other accelerators.

You are right to point out the expense of the spells, but the mana problem is a tricky one. Colorless mana would be a big help in charging up my spellbursts and fanning the flames (and buying the sphynx-bone wand), but mostly I'm more concerned about the buyback costs, which is why I focused on memory crystals and fabricates. I'd be more interested in a way to get colored mana out more quickly.
I might look at a Thran Dynamo after I test the deck out a few times, but the whole deck was assembled for about $24, and Thran Dynamos are of middling expense.
