Deck Description

So this is a Mardu infinity combo deck yeah not Jeskai but Mardu. The Combo has 4 pieces that you need. Butcher of the horde is used to sacrifice Boonweaver Giant that has gift of immortality attached to it then when you sack Boonweaver he comes back to the battle field and you get Gift of immortality from your graveyard with the giants enter the battlefield effect and attach it back to the Boonweaver now you can do this infinitely but how does it help you win? Well here comes in Grim Guardian everytime you reattach the Gift of immortality the Boonweaver Giant the opponent will lose 1 life do this infinitely and deal infinite dmg. Thats it everything else in the deck will pretty much try to help you to get to that Boonweaver Giant mana and to get your combo off. Worst mach up is aggro thats why we have the giant anti aggro package in the sideboard to help with that. The deck is not ready yet and i would like suggestions. Note the deck is on a budjet so if you want to suggest stuff keep it under 5$. Enjoy the deck I sure am

UPDATE: I have been making a lot of trades and have updated the deck this is more controlling version and not budget. http://www.mtgvault.com/eevika/decks/mardu-infinity-control/

Deck discussion for Mardu Infinity

Warstorm surge would be amazing in this combo, shame its not standard.

hmm... plus exquisite blood and sanguine blood, combo inside a combo.

This is great except for the fact that Boonweaver Giant costs 7 to play. Try and find a way to fix that in standard, and this will be good.

There isnt anything that does what it does. Im trying to make the deck so that it can hold out until it gets the combo off.

go 4 color and splash for rattleclaws and caryatids

I actually might think about caryatid its an ok blocker and a mana ramp i have to think about that

Caryatid is usually a solid choice for any deck that has green mana or the ability to get green mana.

if you run Rattleclaw you won't have to splash green though because its colorless.

Heliod's Pilgrim would make it more feasible although it is not infinite.

only to flip it... so you would never be able to hard cast it...

I think the wording of Gift of Immortality might ruin this for the sort of infinite combo that wins the game instantly. It says to return Gift of Immortality to the field "at the beginning of the next end step." This means that you have to be ending your turn before it comes back, which means you don't get to just ramp it up all at once. If you sacrificed your Boonweaver twice in the same turn, he'd die the second time before he got Gift of Immortality back and he'd be gone. At best you could deal one damage this way during each player's turn, but the turns would keep cycling. I think this is still a badass combo, though -- I'd just be sacking Boonweaver for lifelink and swinging with Butcher every turn -- especially if you can afford a Darksteel Plate or something else to give him indestructible while doing this.

Except I'm wrong because Boonweaver can take it out of the graveyard immediately. Nevermind. Ignore me. But using that combo for lifelink would still be great if you don't get Grim Guardian out to complete infinite the combo. And since the repeated sac works, you could use Boonweaver to give Butcher all three effects.

if this wasn't standard, I would suggest viscera seer instead of butcher. as it is only B to play.

This also looks a bit high manawise, and as such looks a tad slow. but other than that this looks pretty good. certainly looks fun to play with. well done. :)

Yeah the high mana on Giant is the main problem of the deck struggles a lot against aggro thats why i have tons of aggro answers in the side

I am also considering trying this deck out, it seems like a fun combo

So some more win conditions besides the Grim Guardian would be (just for naming them):

Ob Nixilis, the Unshackled (infinitely large trampling attacker)
Kheru Bloodsucker (instant win)

The bloodsucker is another sacrifice outlet which alone with the giant, can slowly kill someone. Except it dies to everything so I don't think thats going to be very viable, while the guardian actually has some utility in blocking.

Anyway, Ob Nixilis might be nice as a one-of in this deck, another way to do something with your mana and potentially win the game.

pretty cool idea, i like ob nixilis, to bad there isnt a card that forces your opponent to shuffle.... (in standard)

I think you should main board at least one anger of the gods and at least one bile blight for this build. I just made a different version of this deck if you'd like to check it out. :) great deck!

Could just throw in Altar of the Brood. Whenever a permanent enters the battlefield under your control each opponent mills for 1. Its easier to splash and can come out early. It would allow you to shift your color pie a bit.

I guess butcher is really your only option right now though for free triggers in standard so this isnt so relevant sadly

I think i might throw in a single Altar of the Brood just for another combo component

NEW VERSION OF THE DECK

Not as budget more controlling. I made this after making a lot of trades and getting my hands on more cards.

have you thought about adding some Generator Servants to get the Boonweaver Giant out a little quicker? the generators will also combo well with the Athreos you have in there.

You could add in purphoros, God of the forge for an additional win condition and maybe some generator servants to being the giant in more quickly as you have red anyway.

But what to take out thats the question

0

Well the enchantment creatures add very little to the deck. Sure the ram has a high toughness and gains you a little life butit doesn't deter attackers, maybe something with death touch? Or just more removal. Black and white havevloads of removal atm.
