Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I chose Mana Leak over Counterspell as a just in case - though I definitely like Counterspell much more especially for later in the game. I like Sky Swallower but I'm trying to keep the casting cost lower which is why I went for a couple Hunted Phantasm. I'll add Sky Swallower to my SB and two more Not of this World when I maindeck Sky Swallower. I know the big point is to get out the big guys early on but I'm wondering if I should sidedeck or add some creatures without any catches just in case (I'm probably trying to do too much).
Lava Spike (4x) or a couple Thunderous Wrath (for its miracle cost)?
I've been out of the game for some time so still trying to get familiar with the newer cards, but...probably make the same suggestion that was made to me. Might want to add in some destroy artifact cards (Torch Fiend?). Not too sure about Rakdos Guildgate - the times I've used it seemed to slow me down. Even if I draw it 1st turn, I usually have a Cackler to play so I would rather get that out as soon as possible. I would suggest to replace those with regular lands or something with a better effect. I just came across Cavern of Souls, which seems good against counter decks - though they are bit expensive.
Werebear wouldn't work?
