Deck Description

RG Landfall deck with some nice vintage twist.

How to Play

Main damage source in this deck are Grove rumblers - these guys rumble right over opponent's defenders and do a nice big hit to opponent. Creatures like Scythe leopard, Valakut predator and Snapping gnarlid are good to attack when opponent's defence is down or use those for your own defense. Burnished hart is used only to trigger landfalls for rumblers. Elvish pioneers should be played only to trigger additional landfall for some nice attack boost.

During first few rounds, depending on starting hand and draws, play single land each turn and play creatures like Scythe leopard, Snapping gnarlid or Valakut predator. Also if Burnished hart and/or enchants are available, play those to battlefield to support main hitters. Generally it is good to store in your hand those extra land playing cars to get more landfall for the real attack. Decks heavy with control can be troublesome opponents since there is no removal in this dack. Against these attack only if you see no mana and/or known abilities to play are not available. Make sure you finish of with control deck players fast, there is no reason to let control deck players to toy around any longer for some neat finisher kombo. Make it quick and make it ugly.

Around 4th round you should be able to play your first Grove rumbler.
Around 5th round, you should start attacking with rumbler and add as many landfalls as possible. Up to 5 lands in a round can be played which leads to 13/13 trample attacker even without Adventuring gear or Slab hammer effects. Throw in Assault strobe to see your opponent's life pool reduced dramatically.

As some nice additional vintage only, unlimited mana and life combo is Fastbond + Storm cauldron + Retreat to Kazandu. Just play in a land, tap it for mana and storm cauldron returns it to your hand to be played again. Retreat to Kazandu gives you 2 life, but any land above 1st played deals 1 damage to you. You still remain +1 life per land and also get the mana. Unfortunately I do not own Fastbond, but this might be a good trick for some players who do own it.
