Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck discussion for Somebody had to try it..

Such a rough draft, lol.
Little bit iffy on my targets, no iona :O
well the top decks are stoneblade and NO bant/rug, and iona's shit against those decks, let's face it.

I think emerial archangel COULD make her way into this list, but i'm really iffy on my targets.
yeah, preordain > ponder. I hate ponder.

i chose elesh norn main because she rapes dredge and merfolk, 2 other "top decks" at the moment.
went with thoughtseize over duress because at the low cost of 2 life i'd gladly take your stoneforge mystic over your brainstorm...

ummmmm... spellsnare because tarmogoyf is a bitch. so is stoneforge mystic lol
anddddddd snapcaster is a boss... 'nough said.

Just feel like shouting this out, I know it's a bit late, but here goes.
Empyrial Archangel SUCKS BALLS if you're not seeing a lot of Zoo or RUG.

Zoo was the original reason a lot of people ran a singleton in the sideboard, since they could race us due to burn, but Zoo was one of the best MU's we had even without it.

This looks nice Ethan. One concern about Snapcaster in Reanimator though is people already intend to sideboard in graveyard hate against the deck - Snapcaster gets much worse when they're already raping your graveyard. :P Game one should be sick, though!:)

One other card to consider could be something like Thoughtsieze as it seems awesome and can pave the way for a Jin-Gitaxias or another target. Maybe this is wrong, as I'm not the Reanimator that WhiteandBlue is.:P

Thoughtseize is already in the deck, my friend! 3 to be exact, haha! :P

And I'm glad you like it! It is kind of shitty that snap caster gets progressively worse in games 2 and 3, but let's just hope I have the fow or that they don't see leyline in their opening 7... but I board in show and tells anyways ;P

Oh wow... My bad. Idk how I missed the Thoughtseize... :P Haha. Sorry 'bout that.

Any games with this yet, though? How's Snapcaster seeming to work out for ya?

Ponder sees four cards, and Preordain sees three. I'm inclined to say that Ponder>Preordain because of that, and it's backed up by the fact that Ponder is restricted in Vintage.

My most immediate concern is that you don't run even a singleton Reanimate, a card which goes together with Snapcaster in Reanimator a bit more powerfully than Brainstorm.
It gives the deck speed, enough so that I've beaten ANT and TES by dropping down turn two Iona.

Speaking of Iona, that would be my second concern. Storm was literally being kept down by the fact that control decks could play a playset of Misstep, but without it we've come full circle.
What gave Reanimator such an even MU against Storm was that we could race them by dropping down Iona naming black. Sure they can bounce it, but it's an uphill battle for them.

hahahahaha omg i forgot reanimate... wowwwwwwww hahahaha thanks!
and i never really considered storm, so thank you for bringing that to my attention.

And now, for my ponder v.s. preordain constant struggle.

I HATE ponder. But why is this? I can see 4 cards as opposed to 3? Seems good, right?
Well lets say I see 2 land, i don't want said 2 land, but i see a card i need after said 2 land. With ponder, i'd pick the card I want, then be forced to suffer through 2 dead draws. But with preordain, I can simply choose whether or not I want a card, and judge accordingly. Being able to decide whether or not I want 1, 2, or 3 of the cards with preordain is what really makes it worth-while for me. I don't like going in blind on either card's "random" draw, but none the less I'd have to stick to preordain.

I can dig it, I prefer Ponder myself due to the sheer balls it has over Preordain.

Here the thing about the Ponder/Preordain debate... Basically, it largely comes down to the type of deck you're running and how many fetchlands you play. If you can reliably shuffle your deck after every Ponder (aka running 10+ fetches and maybe another method or two of shuffling) Ponder can be VERY good. If you don't like any of the 3 cards, it's already done more than Preordain with a shuffle and something random. If you like just 1, draw it and then shuffle away with a fetchland. However, it decks with very few shuffle effects, Preordain is just way better for reasons you mentioned Ethan.

That's my opinion anyway. Regardless, they're both potentially very usefull and a must-have in most combo decks.
