Wow you bought a pretty good deck. It's not standard but you should do pretty well in modern. The whole deck works so well together. Kodos to your friend for making such a great deck. Good Luck with it.

Uh why is your friend playing 54 card decks And to the guy above this would be destroyed in modern he's running rebuke they run path to exile He's running Aura's which just get you to lose an extra card when they smash your creature So no this isn't a modern deck that's going to win anything As far as improving the deck Cut gimicky cards like bushi tenderfoot candles glow Cut cards with converted costs of 6 or more you won't get there without ramp consitently espically with twenty one lands Cut Audra's that enchant your creatures that's bad people then oblivion ring your creature for value Use emeria the sky ruin in your lands just 1 thou and if the game stalls she'll give you a boost Whatever cards you run try to start running close to 4
It is kinda weird that this deck is being running with a 54 card deck? But you can fix that :) cool concept but like trollking said, not really a uber strong deck. Still pretty awesome though. It would win quite a few modern if it had 60 (no offense trollking, just disagreeing) so good luck.
