Deck Description

I've been out of the game for about a decade now, so I'm pretty rusty with constructing decks and have basically no clue what's legal anymore. I went out and bought a box of boosters and some starter packs and went to town building with what I had.

So far, this is the best combination of cards I've come up with. Any suggestions are definitely welcome, as I enjoy decks that aim to get back in the saddle, so to say. It seems as though this deck isn't standard legal, but I'm not looking to play in tournaments. Therefore, the sky's the limit for me!

How to Play

Basically, you're using the white cards to lock down your opponent's creatures, assuming they play any. While you're doing this, you're using Divination to cycle through the deck a bit faster for the obvious core of the deck: Talrand. By using his ability of spawning drakes each time you cast an instant or sorcery, you can build up a force of flying 2/2 creatures that can be boosted with Akroma's Memorial. Even if your opponent has creatures that haven't been locked down, they're facing first striking/vigilant/etc. creatures that can spawn fairly easily. A smattering of huge creatures aid in the attack, swooping in (hopefully) in the late stages of the match with islandwalk.
