Deck discussion for Br Vampires

no mark of mutiny? mark of mutiny is sick in vamps. mark your opponents creature, swing with them, then sac em to viscera seer for card advantage

My meta plays alot of agro so i've kind of based it of that, thanks for that i might add it in for the side board instead of inquisistion

take out verdant catacombs, that's not what this deck needs at all, just put mountains in there, I mean, if you get 5 swamps out, then those cards are essentially just life takers than deck speeders

The Catacombs are there for the Landfall ability on the Bloodghast so it can come into play again. This deck only needs 1 Red mana per Red spell so the duel lands are fine.

Was thinking of some anti flyers help, but the burn should be enough

well, acts of treason wouldnt be a bad side board, so will combust, I mean, some white decks thrive in B/R environments, with their knights, condemns, firewalkers (hate them to death), and anything that prevents damage

i like the combust idea but wouldn't Flame Slash be better?

His point is that damage from combust cannot be prevented, so it kills Firewalker and other pro-red

Pretty decent deck, but the real thing that makes vampires such a powerful comno deck is it's ability to switch into a powerful aggro deck. I feel dropping the Lacerators really hurts the deck... I mean, it's one of the best 1 drops in standard. I saw many people doing 4 Gatekeepers in Atlanta, but everyone kept telling me they wished the were Hexmages. I just smiled and showed them my 4 hexmage list.

Seriously, hexmage>gatekeeper. I think a 2/2 split is the most gates you should run.

Feast of Blood is a bad choice, run Ascensions for the Boros/UB/everything but Valakut and elves matchup. Also, pyroclasm is an interesting way to kill your Bloodghasts (and one I tested before Atlanta) but your better off maxing the other burn spells.

A few times last night i just couldn't believe how useful the sac was from the gatekeepers (love it on eldrazi) but i didn't use my hexmages at all not many situations where i needed their ability or first strike, or am i overlooking them, i shall try and use them more in that 2/2 split and tell you how they got on.

My feasts haven't been performing too well so i agree to move to something else.

What I do with him is simply hold him back in my hand until I see an important pw I can't kill right away, drop and sac. He's saved my ass several times before, mainly vs JTMS, Koth, and Gideon.

First strike is also useful vs Aggro decks, since he doesnt die blocking basically all the relevent 1-drops in the format (the notable eventing being Steppe Lynx).

drop pyroclasm it just destroys your own deck completely and utterly i run a B/R vampire deck i personally think demon is a sideboard card and u should mainboard tutelage with all the control and ramp in the meta the only time having tutelage main board is bad is when ur playing another B/R vamp deck or a RDW so id go

-2 pyroclasm +2 gatekeeper
-3 Demon +3 Tutelage
the only other things i can suggest is adding in lacerators and mark of mutiny or act of treason main board cause there is no deck that dosent run creatures especiall with colosseus coming it its like okay act of treason colosseus swing game? and its also a removal card cause u take theyre creature swing sac it to seer scry a card so if u wanna put act or mark main board id drop 2 arc trails for um and for lacerators maybe unholy strength idk
