Global Damage Challenge

OK, fellas. It's been a while since I've issued a challenge (and I still haven't finished grading the last one - life's been crazy). As you all know, my challenges are usually made for purely selfish reasons and this one is no different.

Build a creature-based deck to deal damage to each creature and each player and still have your minions on the table. Ready, set, go!

Based on persist mechanic. Their creatures meets a (hopefully) permanent death with earthquake , pyroclasm , day of judgment, chain reaction and hurricane. While your creatures die and come back again.

Pretty simple. Pull out Everlasting Torment, Pestilence and either Tatterkite or Flourishing Defenses. Pestilence never goes away since Tatterkite can never have counters placed on it and Flourishing Defenses replenishes your creatures whenever you use Pestilence.

The champion is in there for fun/put you ahead of the curve because even if it dies, your opponent can never get that life back, Korlash to speed things up and Deity to keep Pestilence on the field.

Global is no good if it's just going to kill you too regardless of how many creatures you have on the board still. So the point here is to get off the combo of Tainted Sigil with Pestilence or Plague Rats Now if you're playing 1v1 you'll gain twice as much health as you'll lose, even better when it's multiplayer.

Pro-black creatures fill up the rest of the deck to keep Pestilence in play. There's also Dark Rituals to augment mana flow, Swords to Plowshares for indestructibles, and Enlightened Tutors for consistency.

mine's green and red fools....
I call it... Dirty Swine...

20 Lands
10 Forest
10 Mountain

28 Creatures
4 Goblin Swine-Rider
4 Coalhauler Swine
4 Bog-Strider Ash
4 Centaur Safeguard
4 Grazing Gladehart
4 Fire Juggler
4 Goblin Medics

4 Enchantments
4 Gaea's Anthem

8 Other
4 Lure
2 Pyroclasm
2 lightning bolt

pretty simple setup, you Lure the Goblin Swine-Rider and attack, the anthem's are there of obvious reasons, and the Bog-Strider, Safeguard, and the gladehart are there for life gain.

sorry about not putting it in the vault, but i don't use it anymore and this challenge piqued my interest enough to make a deck.

Btw, just to make this challenge easier, doesn't Light of Sanction basically break this challenge if all we're worried about is keeping our creatures alive from global damage?

yeah but white doesn't really have global damage so I'd rather go with more color-appropriate methods.

That's the whole idea. i want to see what everyone comes up with. If you find a sweet way to abuse Light of Sanction (like I did when Lorwyn came out), then awesome. I've moved on to Mark of Asylum, though. 100 times better.

I've rebuilt mine about 6 times on here: Goliaths Disarm their Davids.

It's a Blue-Red-Black that I just came up with. Hope you like it!
