RoE pre-release, any advice?
Well I've decided to venture to my first event in probably over two years now; It's been way too long (it's true, I don't even know how Planeswalkers work :o)! Anyway, I thought now would be a good time to get back in the loop by going to a local RoE pre-release (limited sealed, 6 RoE boosters) on the 17th!
So, I was wondering if anybody had any tips for me? Anything I should be looking out for? Any particular strategies I should take when building a deck? If you can't help, let me know if you're in the same boat as me going to the pre-release without knowing what you're doing and maybe we can help each other! ;)

Well, you should try to look at as many spoilers as possible... vanilla test every card, try to know the in's and out's of the set beforehand.

do you want the big real fancy prerelase experience or do you want the casual laidback experience? the big ones have lots of dealers and the smaller ones done't.

How did it go Gary?
I went 2-3 (2 wins/3 losses) with a 3 color deck that was basically a white weenie with green acceleration into the few fat cards I ran and a dip into red for control. My pool kinda sucked though and a 2-3 is the best I could have expected from that.
It was all about that prerelease foil for me, man what a beast. I'm going to have fun playing that card.

I had fun, obviously not competitive, I never have been but yeah, it was very interesting to see the new cards and get involved a bit more! :)

some good cards there mate, good to see you liked it. Prerelease events are usually very relaxed and easy going. It also attracts the same people over and over again living in the area and after a while you get to know them. After a few events its like playing with friends.

Release draft was fun, I drafted UW Levelers and went 3-2 for 8th place, that strategy is really strong.
