Hedron-Field Purist and the Lord of Shatterskull Pass.

So, Hedron-field Purists, when fully leveled, states that when a source deals damage to you, prevent 2 of that damage. So if a creature with power 2/2 were to attack, he would do no damage. Lord of Shatterskull Pass, when fully leveled, does 6 damage to each creature defending player controls whenever he attacks. My question is, because he is one single card doing all the damage, do I choose where to prevent the 2 damage? so say, prevent 2 of the 6 damage that would have been dealt to my purist, dealing 4 to that creature while everyone else takes 6? Or because he is doing damage to multiple different creatures, is it considered multiple sources of damage, therefor each creature only takes 4, and his attack would only deal 4? Thanks in advance.

I know its possible I could be mistaken on this but as far as my experience goes I'm pretty sure that the 2 damage would be prevented for every different object that source created. i.e. if it dealt 6 damage to each creature and player...only 4 damage would get through to each object

I'd like someone to confirm this, as |I wouldn't know where to look for such rulings in the comp. rules

That's how I would read it as well, that 2 damage is prevented from every object, not just one.

Still probably best to get confirmation from someone else, but at least we have a general consensus so far.

Well, I went to FNM and asked some guys, they said that every creature was technically triggering the 6 damage, so every 6 would be a different source, meaning everyone takes 2 less. Thanks for the replys!

All your creatures would be dealt 4 damage instead of 6 in the event that you control a fully-leveled Hedron-Field Purists and you are being attacked by a fully-leveled Lord of Shatterskull Pass.
