Artifact equipment question

When a creature equiped with some artifact equipment dies and goes to the graveyard does the equipment go with him or just stay in play on the battlefield waiting to be equiped to someone else?

and

can you equip artifact equipment as an instant or sorcery?

the equipment always stays on the battlefield unless an effect states otherwise. An equipped creature dying does NOT cause the equipment to be destroyed.

You may only equip as a sorcery. This is written within the keyword "equip".

"Equip" is a sorcery speed effect, however it needs to actually have the keyword Equip. Sometimes equipment (skullclamp) may have another way of attaching to a creature, like with Cranial Plating, where it says to attach it to a creature just like equipping but uses only the cost and effect without the keyword Equip.

Can you equip an artifact equipment when you cast it or does it have summoning sickness?

Unless a card says otherwise (standard magic disclaimer) only non-haste creatures suffer from summoning sickness.

only creatures have summoning sickness nothing else and equipments are always artifacts.
