Coalition Relic:

"Tap: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool
Tap: put a charge counter on Coalition Relic.

At the beginning of your precombat main phase, remove all charge counters from Coalition Relic. Add one mana of any color to your mana pool for each counter removed this way."

Does this mean I HAVE to remove counters everytime due to the lack of "May" in the wording? or can I build it up for a few turns and use it when most convieniant? Don't want to cop objections at tournaments for card wording.
