Deathtouch + Regeneration

My brother and I were wondering, if a creature with deathtouch blocks and then regenerates, does the blocked creature still get destroyed by the deathtouch?

yup, the damage is still dealt, regeneration just establishes a 'bubble' that makes it so the next time the creature would die, it instead gets all damage removed from it, is tapped, and is removed from combat.

Thanks, it's that removed from combat part that made it confusing. So the creature is removed from combat after all damage is dealt then?

well, it's the damage being dealt that triggers the regeneration bubble, so it would happen after that.

Awesome, that's what I thought would happen, thanks.

Armor Auras work in a simlar fashion if attached to a creature with deathtouch. Both creatures in combat deal damage as normal (includes the death touch damage) and the armor is removed in place of your creature going to the graveyard if it was destroyed by lethal damage. Note: An important difference is that to regenerate, your creature has to receive lethal damage. If you were in combat and blockers assigned if someone lightning bolts your creature that has a regeneration shield and it is lethal damage its regeneration effect removes it from combat and taps it. So in that case your opponent's creature receives no combat damage at all and therefore receives no deathtouch either and survives combat also.
But if your creature with death touch had an Armor Aura attached to it and the same scenario above took place the lightning bolt's lethal damage would not remove your creature from combat, the amor aura is placed in the graveyard and your creature and your opponent's creature deal damage to each other. Your opponent's creature is destroyed by your death touch regardless of how much combat damage you dealt (at least one), but your creature can now be destroyed from your opponent's lethal damage.
Note: Double-strike and First Strike damage effects can be used by a defending creature to avoid the death touch if it destroys your creature or it can enhance your creature's death touch by allowing him to deliver a fatal blow before your opponent strikes back.
Keep in mind that for regeneration to occur from combat damage damage has already been dealt by both creatures in the combat as long as neither has first strike or double strike.
Creatures protected from the color of your deathtouch creature that block it will survive as well, as your damage is reduced to 0.
