Does the "Double" effect stack?

Here's my question: if I have, for example, in play three Doubling Season and an effect makes me put two 1/1 Soldier Tokens on the battlefield, do they double the number three times? So that I put 16 Soldiers on the battlefield? The question is obviously for all the cards with effects like "Whenever you gain life, instead you gain double that amount" etc.
Triggering at the same time, do their effect stack?

Yes, they stack, you get double, then double, then double again, so 8x as many. There's a reason doubling season's so expensive these days, and it's not because it's tournament playable.

Isn't the reason for the increased price of doubling season planeswalkers? I mean it used to be 5$ before planeswalkers existed which was already steep for a card that didn't see tournament play. What is it at now 10$?
Lots of planeswalkers come in play pretty broken with doubling season.

Actually, that'd probably be responsible for a couple dollars worth, the rest is a lowering supply because no one opens those packs anymore.

Proliferate's not helping either, they're up to $14 on the low end for cards that aren't damaged in some way.
