Draft Myr if you see Galvanizer. I think it's gonna be a viable draft strategy. Granted, we've only seen 77 cards out of the set so far, so I can't really say anything for certain.

disappointed with the return of mindslaver and poison, they're failed mechanics best left in the past.

So very happy about the birth of proliferate... then again I'm the same guy that got people to seriously refer to miniature d6's as "the little dice of suffering and pain".

I think they could work expecially with proliferate
And I like mindslaver, especially in combo prototype portal...a bit expensive but doable and if you hit it its ganranteed to mess with your opponent..
I kinda like the idea of the poison, I never played the mechanic in the past so it's new for me, but I can see how it creates a second layer of gameplay around the game. it's again a whole new tactic to win the game and I could see it working with cards like Skithiryx...
By the way whats intimidate?

Mindslaver didn't fail? Lands plays it in Legacy and it's a good kill for that deck. That and many people still concider it to be one of the most disrupting effects in magic.
As for bringing it back, yeah that I don't like either because I already have a set.

It's a mechanic from Zendikar that's basically the same as Fear but for the color of card it was printed on. So on a red creature it's Red Fear (can't be blocked except by red creatures and or artifact creatures)

fail in the sense that it's ZERO fun to play against.
it's like decks made purely of land destruction or circles of protection.
sure, it can "work", but good luck finding ppl that will play with you more than once.

I tend to have that problem anyway, thats why I like drafts....
but isn't that always the case? There are several cards which are just in my opinion imbalanced..and If someone created a deck around those cards, 9 out of 10 times they'll win. I don't think that should spoil the fun I think the fun of that is to create a deck especially against that deck and destory the sucker time after time :D..and then ask him/her to play another round ^^...
Nevertheless I am really curious how the prolifirate and infect mechanics are going to work in drafts!

I don't play combo/Lock/Land destruct and or discard in casual games. I hate other people using it against me so I don't play it myself. A single non reccuring mindslaver I can handle.
I thought you were talking about the value of mindslaver in tournament play. There it's certainly playable which is what I meant.

Now that the whole set has been spoiled, I'm pretty exited about it. I loved Mirrodin, and now Scars looks like it can be almost as much fun (although, I'm going to miss Myr Matrix, Myr Incubator, and Myr Retriever). I'm thinking that anything with Infect will be snatched up pretty fast... Anything that can win you the game in half the time is always good.

I agree that the poison mechanic doens't make your games very "fun"... But I've been playing a few times with my infect deck against my r/w artifact deck, and in the end it does seem kind of fun how your deck manages to get that one creature to bounce through the defences of your opponent, or to see a masterplan to put on that tenth counter reveals itself. I probably won't be playing with infect often, though, because after a while your gameplay does get boring.

I think i need to go back and change my reply, now that i've actually played with infect. I actually think that Metalcraft is far more powerful than infect. Infect creatures are just too small, and over priced. I did win some with my infect deck, but I think that Metalcraft is alot more consistant.
