Death Rattle

I just got Damnation from the Naxx Raid Deck, and I have a question about the Death Rattle Effect.

The card reads: Opposing cards everywhere have "Death Rattle:Your hero deals 1 shadow damage to itself."

Does this effect apply ONLY to the cards my opponent has on the field? Or does it also apply to my opponent's deck and hand?
