Ok, we were playing a game, and my opponent played firey hellhound, which was given trample by an ability. So, it was a 2/2 with trample. He then beefed it up to a 11/2, and attacked. I blocked with my 3/2, killing the hellhound. Does the remainder damage (9, since 2 was blocked) go through even though the hellhound died?
