Mox Opal.

Now here's how i figure.
Mox Opal as it stands now is not all the effective, usefull bot not super effective. (At least i have never used nor seen it used effectively.[In standard anyway])
Now here is when i got to thinking this is mirrodin are there going to be artifact lands out in besieged... not that i wasn't disgusted by there lack of in scars.

Just sell it to a vintage player. It's what I would do if I pulled one from a booster.

Given the problems that arose with artifact lands last time, I somehow doubt we'll see a full cycle of them.

They are treading a lot more carefully this time - the metalcraft theme is much easier to keep balanced than the cost-reducing affinity-for-artifacts - so I wouldn't be surprised to see artifact lands, but I would be surprised to see enough to stock a whole deck, as was possible in Mirrodin.

It was called Combo Winter for a reason.

I guess they'll make an artifact land, but just one, and it'll make colorless mana... So that you can put in 4 of them, and use them for your metalcraft without the ability getting out of hand.

They may come out with 1, but I kinda doubt it. The artifact lands of Mirrodin got Restricted in Standard... They will never make that mistake again. Not very often does a card get restricted while it's still in standard. Yes they were good, and everyone used them, but that was exactly the problem. They were too good, and everyone used them. I think with them making the Mox a Legend is a pretty sure sign that they are being alot more careful this time around.

I could see a non-Indestructible variant of Darksteel Citadel in the near future. It wouldn't be entirely unreasonable to print a single artifact land, and would fit nicely with the theme of things.

IMO, they could even print a full cycle of them if they came into play tapped (perhaps a corrupted/infected/corroded variant of the previous runs). That'd slow the mana curve in a deck, and assist metalcraft no more than 0 cost Memnites, Ornithopters, and Accorder's Shields would, as well as prevent abuse from cards like Glint Hawk. Let's face it, the reason they were restricted in their first run is because of Affinity abuse, and in the current metagame there's enough artifact hate that running the above proposed variants would benefit a metalcraft deck without breaking it, but also risk losing mana base.

EDIT: Still though, I'd like to see a single, non-Indestructible, colorless artifact land printed in the next set, and nothing more.

I highly doubt we'll see even a single new artifact land see print. The reason isn't what it would actually do to the format, but the stigma left by Affinity. It would just be a bad decision from a PR perspective.

agreed. But even now i have trouble pulling it out. Even if its out, its hard to see how effective it can be. However, if you are playing a metalcraft deck, i have to say it can be a lifesaver, especially if your opponent decided to destroy your land, not your artifact.

"liquidmetal coating + naturalize combo" Ouch..........

I'd love a cycle of legendary artefact lands. That would keep them manageable.

I think this is a perfect seggestion. I certainly remember when the artifact lands first came out, I was lucky enough to pull one in my 1st pack. Later that day I was in a draft and I saw affinity for the first time. As soon as I got home I got online and began buying up every artifact land I could see, since from the begining I realised how exploitable it was. I managed to enter an affinity deck with all artifact lands in two local tourniments before the ban, and I must say it was no-contest; even the best decks cant stand up to a deck which basically get to have every land produce mana without tapping for every artifact card.

Making the artifact lands legendary would definitely go a very long way towards fixing the problem. Artifact lands were really only a problem in decks that used only them; having one or two artifact lands doesnt give your deck a gigiantic boost usually. I would be perfectly happy to see each artifact land reproduced as a legendary.

That cycle of artifact lands felt legendary, anyway, from a flavor perspective. They were all specific, named (in the flavor text) locations.

It's not like there were a ton of Darksteel Citadels littering Mirrodin. It was Panopticon, forge of the Darksteel Eye, home of Mirrodin's keeper, not some random stretch of glimmervoid.

And Ancient Den wasn't a generic razorgrass plains, it was Taj-Nar, throne of Raksha Golden Cub, destined leader of the leonin prides.

The Great Furnace of Kuldotha; Lumengrid, Seat of the Synod; Tel-Jilad, the Tree of Tales; Ish Sah, the Vault of Whispers; they could all have been printed as legendary, according to their fluff.
