Would Transmute trigger a Standstill?

Hi, I was playing a game w/ my friend and I had played a Standstill, and then I transmuted a card. I was wondering if this would break the Standstill and my opponent would then get to draw cards. We concluded that Transmuting is not really casting a spell, so technically, it shouldn't break the Standstill. Just wondering if that is the case or not.

Thanks.

Maybe because I was out of the game for a while i don't understand, but what is Transmuting? Is it an ability? Cause there is no card called transmute. I could answer your question if I knew what card you were talking about.

if by 'transmute' you mean Master Transmuter's ability, then no, it doesn't trigger Standstill as it's an ability, not a spell.

No, for example, the card Muddle the Mixture has the Transmute ability. Similar to cycling, except you get to search your library.

How about this, would cycling break a Standstill? The wording is the same, so if cycling breaks it, then I am assuming transmuting would also.

Thanks again.

those are all cases of the effect being an ability, not a spell.

Oh ya, I wasn't playing during Ravnica, so I didn't know about that ability. So ya Seras had the answer.

transmute is an ability and does not trigger standstill.
