T2?

I've been playing Magic for a bit over 2 yrs now, but I've never played in a tournament. There are still alot of things I don't know, such as Type 2 decks. What are they?

T2 is the old name for the Standard Format.

currently this includes cards from m11, zendikar block and scars of mirrodin.
