Kiln Fiend + Fling
Hi all,
I'm a new player (haven't played my first game; waiting for my first deck to come in the mail) and have a pretty basic question for you. If I have a Kiln Fiend out and play Fling, does Fling cause Kiln Fiend to get its boost from having an Instant played? Or, more generally, can someone explain exactly what happens in the Stack with this play? Thanks in advance!

No, the Fiend will not get boosted.
When you cast Fling, you sacrifice the Kiln Fiend as part of Fling's cost.
So, by the time you've fully cast Fling, which would trigger the Fiend's ability, the Fiend is no longer around.
So, the Fiend's ability will never go on the stack to begin with.
