Is it creepy?
This is just minor thing that I've been noticing with some of my decks recently. I'm always pulling something of three or four whenever I do testing.
Examples:
Bant Deck:
Test 1: Three Oblivion Rings (one of them being the only holographic one I have)
Test 2: 4 Rhox War Monks
Test 3: Three Oblivion Rings (two in the opening hand and one of those being the holographic)
Test 4: 4 Oblivion Rings (two in the opening hand)
Esper Deck:
Test 1: Three Etched Champions
Test 2: 3 Esper charms
Test 3: 3 Esper Charms
Test 4: 4 esper Charms with at least one of them drawing into another one.
I know this might just seem like bad shuffling, but I always break the deck down into 6 or 10 piles of cards and then shuffle them together randomly.
So has anyone else experienced something like this recently? I'm just really bored and kind of curious.

What we might have here is that you're OVER-shuffling, which ends up with the same effect as a poor shuffle. My two cents at least...it is kinda strange though.

I don't need to worry about Occam's Razor. I believe in the Heart of the Cards. There's no way I will ever be steered wrong.

Are you pile shuffling? I think this would make your opening hands look a lot more random.

Yeah I put the cards into piles and the clump them together, stacking a shifting as I go.

Oh, I see. What I meant by pile shuffling was laying the cards, face down, one by one in an arbitrary number of piles (I usually go with six). Then you shuffle those piles into each other.
I know if I just grab the deck in halves or thirds and shuffle those piles together, I almost always get less variety in my opening grip. I think it's something about the subconscious repetition I just happen to impose on the way I handle the cards. At least I know it's not just me!

If you want to go into the "Heart of the Cards" you could just as easily say:
The energies produced by a player who is having a good time playing the game will be transfered into the objects that the player touches (such as cards, dice, etc). From there, it can further be stated that this energy influences the cards' placement as you "randomly" shuffle as well as the dice when thrown.
I've seen people get the same hand over and over and repeatedly roll the highest number when determining who is going to go first.
My viewpoint on it might be a little skewed as I'm a Wiccan

Interesting concept.
I still like the idea of Yugioh, just because I'm able to continue to remember those older days when I played the game. It was fun, for a while, but I just couldn't find anyone to play so I gave it up and eventually found Magic.

Means that there are a lot of shuffling the cards face down, one by one, an arbitrary number of poles (usually I go six). Then mix the pile to another. So just grab the cover half or third of the poles together and shuffle, I almost always less fluctuation in an extract from my introduction. I think its something subconscious repetition of my ability to impose how I can handle the cards.
