What MTG set to buy at Target?

I recently got a $30 Target gift card, and decided what better way to spend it than on MTG cards. I've already invested money in a 2011 booster box with a friend. (we split 50/50) My first deck into the game was the 2011 Core Set "Breath of Fire" intro pack.

So yes, what set should I get at Target? Should I wait for Mirrodin Besieged to arrive and buy an intro pack or booster pack from that set?

Is it better for me to spend my gift card on another intro deck or just booster packs?

The local Target I go to sells these MTG sets:

- 2011 Core Set Intro Packs / Booster packs
- Scars of Mirrodin Intro Packs / Booster packs
- Conflux Intro Packs

Note: These are the sets they have stocked atm when I checked today. They had Worldwake and Planeswalker Theme Decks, which I'm pretty sure they will restock on.

don't assume so, any packs with set deck lists tend to have very short retail lifespan. usually once they're off the shelf then they are gone for good.

Hm, alright. So what kind of set would you personally buy out of the ones listed?

ah well sorry, personally I simply wouldn't get any of those.

i only order single cards now..get exactly what i want/need and don't get a bunch of useless extras.

If they have that Fire & Lightning premium deck I suggest you buy that (it's a mono red deck with only foil cards). It's extremely good value for money and the deck is very strong with some really good cards in there.

@Seras Ah i c. There is a Mtg hobby store close to where I live...I like you're idea of buying singles. Thanks for your feedback!

@Seth Cool, I've seen that set at the Mtg hobby store close to where I live, but not at Target. Alright, guess I'll spend my gift card on whatever mtg sets I want.
