I cant seem to understand how it works. A littl help here?

When it enters the battlefield, you and you opponent(s) exile the top 3 cards of your library. Then when ever you cast a spell that spell is instead exiled and you can choose a nonland card exiled with Knowledge Pool and cast it without paying its casting cost.

Now you're thinking "That's what the card says!" This is true, but what it says is exactly what it does. Using it to your advantage is different though lol.

In my opinion it is pretty useless, but some may see it as an asset. Say you cast it and exile Blightsteel Colossus, Shape Anew, and an Island. The next turn you cast Master's Call. It is exiled, and you have the option to cast one of the 2 other cards for free. I'd choose the colossus, lol, but I assume you see my point.

it works just as it says. however the implications are complex. because both you and opponent can use the exiled cards when ever you cast a spell. also the spell you cast after knowledge pool resolves will be exiled by the pool and it can be used again if someone else casts a spell.

for example: you cast knowledge pool and exiled top 3 cards of your library as well as your opponent. your cards: blightsteel colossus, lightning bolt, and shatter. opponents exiled cards: preordain, day of judgement and pacifism. then you cast another lightning bolt from your hand. instead that lightning bolt goes into the pool (because of the 2nd knowledge pool effect) and you can choose w/c card to cast in the pool. (for example: blightsteel colussus). then your opponent, at end of turn cast into the roil. the into the roil goes into the pool then he can choose to cast other cards in the pool. (ex: pacifism).

here is the FAQ from wizards:

You may cast any other card exiled by Knowledge Pool, including one owned by an opponent. Any card exiled by Knowledge Pool's enters-the-battlefield ability or its other triggered ability may be cast.

The spell a player casts from his or her hand won't resolve if it's exiled, even if that spell can't be countered by spells or abilities.

If the original spell isn't exiled (perhaps because it's countered by another spell or ability before Knowledge Pool's second triggered ability resolves), the rest of the ability does nothing. The player doesn't get to cast an exiled card.

If there are no nonland cards exiled by Knowledge Pool, the original spell is still exiled.
You may pay additional costs, such as kicker costs, of the exiled card.

If the card has any mandatory additional costs, as Kuldotha Rebirth does, you must pay them in order to cast the spell.

Timing restrictions based on the card's type are ignored. For example, you can cast an exiled creature card this way. Other restrictions, such as Spinal Embrace's "Cast Spinal Embrace only during combat" are not ignored.

If the card you cast without paying its mana cost has an X in its mana cost, you must choose 0 as its value.

Any other abilities that trigger when you cast the original spell (for example, if you cast Emrakul, the Aeons Torn) will still trigger and go on the stack.

If multiple Knowledge Pools are on the battlefield, keep track of which cards are exiled by each of them. Whenever a player casts a spell from his or her hand:

If all Knowledge Pools are controlled by the same player, that player chooses the order in which the triggered abilities are put onto the stack. The last one put onto the stack will be the first to resolve.

If multiple players each control one or more Knowledge Pools, the active player put his or her triggered abilities on the stack in any order, then each other player in turn order does the same. The last ability put onto the stack this way will be the first to resolve.

The first triggered ability to resolve will exile the original spell, then the player who cast that spell may cast one of the nonland cards exiled by the Knowledge Pool that generated that triggered ability. The abilities of other Knowledge Pools will do nothing when they resolve, as the original spell will already have been exiled.

Absolutely not. (Sorry, no rules help here, just disputing an opinion :P)

Knowledge Pool is most useful for absolutely effing up an opponent's game. Once a Knowledge Pool is on the battlefield, players can no longer expect to cast anything from their hand like they initially planned to, without first risking it to every other player. Of course, priority here is key, and if the active player has an instant available they could still cast their intended spell. However, that is still a significant stipulation, and it throws a monkey wrench into any deck that tries to traditionally cast anything.

Absolutely my all time favorite card, no doubt about it :)

I was unaware that you could cast your opponent's exiled spells. That said, I would like to withdraw my earlier opinion of the card and official say I now see the appeal.

however as a result, you cant cast your own spells too. So its the new pyro mancer ascension deck. Jz too risky.
