Coat of arms, Provoke, Adventuring gear questions

Good morning to you all, just a few questions that popped up in our last magic game I was hoping you could help me with.

ok, if I have [Coat of arms][/http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewCard_Popup.aspx?CardName=Coat%20of%20Arms&Edition=M10&Print=1] out on the field and have an elf warrior, an elf shamon, and an elf out as well. do the creatures get +2/+2 because there are 2 different types of elves out or do they get +3/+3 since there's an elf out without a sub class to it?

if I wanted my opponent to block with one particular creature and I cast [Provoke][/http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewCard_Popup.aspx?CardName=Provoke&Edition=STH&Print=1] would I be able to target one of his creatures that isn't tapped?

[Adventuring gear][/http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewCard_Popup.aspx?CardName=Adventuring%] is out on the field but not equiped. if a land is dropped and then [Adventuring gear][/http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewCard_Popup.aspx?CardName=Adventuring%] is equpied to a creature does that creature get the benefit of the landfall effect of the equipment since it was on the battle field before the land came into play or does it have to be equiped to a creature for that effect to trigger?

Coat of arms: Each creature gets +1/+1 for each other creature on the battlefield that shares at least one creature type with it.
If you have 3 elves each gets +2/+2. An elf shaman is an elf and a shaman, so a goblin shaman shares a creature type with the elf shaman, so does the elf warrior.

provoke: Yes, you can target an untapped creature.

Adventuring gear: Landfall — Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, equipped creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn.

If there is no equipped creature the landfall has no effect. Equipping it afterwards still has no effect.

if I had a card that says "destroy target creature, draw a card" but my opponent doesn't have any creatures out, would I have to destroy one of my creatures to get the draw effect or can I just cast it without a target to get the draw effect?

you need a legal target to be able to cast the spell, so yes you would need to target one of your own creatures.
