Glint Hawk Idol
So this came up in a game during lunch a couple of days ago. One person at the table played a Glint Hawk Idol, and payed the mana to turn it into a creature. Now, out question was can a Glint Hawk Idol attack on the turn it is brought into play even though it was originally an artifact which isn't subjected to a creature's summoning sickness?

Don't quote me on this but I believe it still is effected by summon sickness. This is why man-lands don't ever swing the turn they come out.

Scotty is right. Here is my reasoning to help explain this situation.
When a permanent comes into play, it triggers a "relative" summoning sickness specific to that permanent. Sickness remains active until the upkeep following its triggering. At any point in that time if a permanent becomes a creature (without Haste) it becomes effected by the sickness's existence.
Since summoning sickness only effects creatures, this concept remains intact for my understanding. I hope that is clear enough.
