cheating him in by turn 4 is not that big a deal but paying his upkeep is. It's just not very realistic from a deck building point of view.

A nice way of playing Dragon Tyrant is through Scion of the Ur-Dragon but getting him down is't that easy either.

play 4xEladamri's Call to get the creatures you need when you need them.

Sakura-Tribe Elder and Cultivate will help get those mountains (and or a plains for Eladamri's Call if you don't have the bird on the field)

wow taiga's, I thought it was your intention to make this a budget deck.

playing Elvish Harbinger is smart, I like it!

Worldy Tutor is to slow, it puts the card on top of the deck meaning you would need to play it the same turn you play Piper if you want to activate piper the turn after.

The biggest problem with cheating him (or anything else) onto the battlefield with Piper is the Piper.

Most people would kill / counter / exile the piper the second they see it.

The tutor isn't as slow as you mite think. It's an instant, so you play it at the end of the turn just before yours :p

I know that. The end of turn isn't an option though or he'll need to play piper a turn later. He can play it in his upkeep and then draw the tutored card which is an option I overlooked. So yes it's playable.

As for Piper I can't agree more but what the hell right, if he wants to play it lets go for it :)

Deathrender is nice and works well with creatures that can be sacrificed like Sakura-Tribe Elder. But again the Tyrant is a poor creature choice if you want to cheat, the upkeep really holds you back.

Better to cheat in lets say a Bogardan hellkite.

PS: I don't mind you playing Taiga, just saying it's not worth including if you don't own a set yet and you are thinking of buying them just for this deck.

I have a Dragon Storm deck that uses Rite of Flame, Seething Song, and Lotus Bloom to get out Bogardans and Dragon Tyrants. Use Braid of Fire and Flamekin Brawlers to pay the upkeep on Tyrant as well as Braids cumulative upkeep to pump up the firebreathing.

Its common for me to get out a couple tyrants/bogardans turn three and kill by at least 5.

Would be better to play 2xKarrthus, Tyrant of Jund and 4xBogardan Hellkite in a dragonstorm deck. The Haste Karrthus gives can make the difference.
Hellkite Overlord is a fine dragonstorm target as well.

This is true Seth. I use Surge of Zeal to handle the haste issue in my deck.

Don't forget Kokusho, my favourite card for a dragonstorm deck :p

Unique is good, seeing the same decks over and over is boring.

The most devestating use of Dragon Tyrant I've seen is in a Scion of the Ur-Dragon EDH deck. It ramps mana, plays scion, fetches a hasty dragon and attacks. Next turn if Scion still lives (if not you just replay him as he is the decks commander) you attack, fetch Dragon Tyrant and kill. It's just very easy to get 20 damage in and more.
My brother plays such a deck and it's very effective. The dumping of dragons in the yard is great for ressurection and is yet another way to attack/win.
