Hero of Bladehold with Beastmaster?

Okay I've got a bit of an inquiry. How does Hero of Bladehold combo with Beastmaster Ascension.

It'd be awesome if you get 3 quest counters on the ascension when Hero swings but I don't think it works as the creatures aren't under your control when they're DECLARED attacking. They enter the battlefield attacking...so how many quest counters can I potentially get by swinging with one Hero of Bladehold and Beastmaster on the field??

That'd be 1. Beastmaster Ascension triggers whenever a creature attacks, which in longhand would be 'whenever a creature is declared as an attacker'. Since the tokens are put onto the battlefield tapped and attacking, they were never actually declared as attackers, and thus do not trigger the ascension.
