Colored permanents, one of my friends recently said that although land is a permanent it’s not a color permanent. It’s just a permanent that produces mana of a given color.

For example if you play the card “all is dust” it would not destroy all the land on the field just all the other colored permanents on the field. Or if you have a card that gets pumped up for all green permanents you control, does that mean that you can’t count the land as well?
