curious about trample effect
Ok, so say I have a Ball Lightning, 6/1 trample, unaffected by summoning sickness. I attack and it's blocked by a 1/1. Here's my question... Does the 1/1 destroy Ball Lightning because of combat damage and no trample damage is done, or does Ball Lightning destory the 1/1 and continue to do damage, or are they both dead at the end of turn and the trample damage is done?

Damage is all dealt at the same time unless first strike/double strike is involved. Your Ball Lightning will deal its damage while their 1/1 blocker deals its damage.
1) Ball Lightning is declared as attacker.
2) A 1/1 soldier token is assigned as a blocker.
3) Ball Lightning deals 1 damage to the soldier token AT THE SAME TIME as the soldier deals 1 damage to the Ball Lightning. 5 Damage is left unblock and "tramples" over to the defending player or planeswalker.
