Vigor vs deathspore thalid?????

My question is this...Vigor stops almost any damage directed at your creatures, other than vigor. Then put that many +1/+1 counters on that creature. If someone uses Deathspore thalid's ability (Sacrifice a saporling. Put a -1/-1 counter on target creature) Does Vigor replace that negative counter and if it doesn't would that creature still get the +1/+1 counter?

Deathspore thalid's ability do not triggers Vigor's ability because -1/-1 counters are not damages
