Sacrificing
When can cards be sacrificed? I have a few examples I am not sure on.
1) Ancient spring: Can I tap ancient spring for U, then sacrifice it for WB?
2) Can an blocking creature be sacrificed after it blocks, but before it dies?
3) Golden urn: If someone casts a shatter on it, can I sacrifice it before the shatter resolves?

1: No, as the second ability also requires the spring to be tapped.
2: spells and abilities can be used in response to the blockers being declared, this includes effects that would sacrifice the blockers.
the effects would resolve before the damage resolution step, so the sacrificed creature would not deal or received any damage. However all the blocks remain(ie: if you sac the blocker, the attacking creature it was blocking is still considered as blocked)
3: yes, you can respond to a destroy effect by activating the targeted permanent's abilities.
