good reanimator targets are:

Iona, Shield of Emeria
Sphinx of the Steel Wind
Hellkite Overlord

If you play mono black I would strongly suggest playing 8 duress effects (thoughtseize and Inquisition of kozilek are your best choices I think).

Seth is indeed right, I personally use Thoughtseize over Inquisition of Kozilek though, but that's a meta choice. I personally advise thinking about :manau:/:manab: though, it gives you more protection, and quite possibly the best draw spell for the deck; Careful Study.

If you want to continue the mono-black route, I can only speculate on things, but I will say it is more powerful than I originally gave it credit.

Reya Dawnbringer was always a nice addition with Reanimator decks. Putrid Imp and/or Wild Mongrel were a great way to get fatties out of your hand, too.

If you're willing to splash green, you could consider Defense of the Heart; while not actually Reanimator, it gives you an alternate way to get some fatties out on the board.

I really like Akroma for a target since she has so much going for her right off, haste, flying, first strike and vigilance make her a mean blocker, harder to be removed with her protections, able to swing and fly over right away.

I also like inkwell leviathan for the sake of shroud and trample, and just being a beastly creature.

Depending on who I'm playing there are a few options for what else. Phantom Nishoba is worth trying out, depending on the meta at least to gain some of the life back.

Putrid Imp or Hapless researcher also make for real quick discards if you start with a good one in opening hand.
