Best One-Turn-Win deck Competition
Here are the simple rules:
Create a starting seven card hand that wins (or does massive awesomeness) before your opponent even gets to start his upkeep. The combo must only use those seven cards (or fewer). Please be original. My profile has many 1-turn-win decks so feel free to check them out to get ideas. Remember: it does not matter how impossible it is to get a particular hand in a real deck. Just show me the possibilities. Good luck

my buddy has alot of old cards and i built this for him after he played against my scarecrows its kinda pricy to do tho. normally its a turn 3 combo without his cards to speed it up with mox cards and lotus but you can also use dark rituals which i will use an example of both
the normal turn 3 thing is without any mana accel
Seven card winning hand
painter's servant
grindstone
mox jet
swamp
black lotus
mox diamond
pact of negation
first: drop the swamp, mox's, lotus.
second: tap the swamp for grindstone then both mox's for the painter's servant choose any color
third: sac the lotus for 3 mana to fuel the grindstone they put their entire deck into the graveyard because of the servants ability everything is the color you chose
replace the mox's for dark rits and instead of the black lotus add either lotus petal or another ritual

Hi guys,
I just built a deck which practically kills in one turn but uses the whole library.
In actual fact you still need the 7 cards in your hand for the killing combo.

Basically you need to have:
A tree in hand along with, A glimpse and any other affinity or low cost creature.
Then you have 3 options either you use the Charbelcher and burn, or Grind er and Wheel combo or you could use Lodestone for the kill.

Cards in hand:
Thrumming stone, black lotus, relentless rats, 2 mana vault, swamp
TURN 1
1: Play swamp, tap for black.
2: Play mana vault, tap for 3
3: Play mana vault, tap for 3 (5 total mana)
4: Play thrumming stone
5: Play black lotus (don't use ripple 4), sacrifice for 3 black
6: Play relentless rats (use ripple 4)
7: Get all 45 rats in play
TURN 2
1: Pwn for 2,025 damage
2: Watch opponents life drop to -2,005
3: Celebrate

thanks, like i said tho you can replace the moxes and the lotus with dark rituals and they arent expensive and maybe a lotus petal idk how expensive they are tho, the grindstone is probably the most expensive with the dark ritual version

Hold on unknownhunters deck isn't original - as i have seen a few decks like this before. i know someone in scotland who has a proxy deck just like this, very familiar indeed !!

im sorry puffermad im sure your right, im sure all of these arent original im sure they all have had mention befor ive seen 2 that ik already but i dont know anybody else with the grindstone painters servant and i dont know anybody in scotland so im sorry i thought it was original

I didn't mean to have a go at you - i've seen a number of yours decks - and they are very good. Also i keep forgetting that not everyone is British and therefore will not necessarily know anyone in Scotland. Its still a fantastic deck though - i had the joy of using that combo aboout a year ago and to the displeasure of the opponent of course.

not the most simple combo but hey... it works :):):)

1)swamp
2)dark ritual x 2 (mox's too rich for my blood)
3)wall of blood
4)shadowfeed
5)rite of consumption.
6)simian spirit guide
exile simian spirit guide from you hand for 1 red mana. play a swamp, dark ritual to add 3. another dark ritual to add 3 more. 6 mana floating. use 1 to play shadowfeed and remove a dark ritual in your graveyard from the game and gain 3 life putting you at 23 life. use 3 more mana floating to play wall of blood. use its ability and pay 20 life to give it +20+20 then use the last 2 to play rite of consumption to make your opponent lose 20 life. its kind of a strech i know but hey its worked for me.
another great combo is kederekt parasite+megrim+barbed shocker.
kederekt parasite-deals 1 damage to an opponent when they draw a card if i control a red permanent.
megrim- deals 2 damage to an opponent when they discard a card.
Barbed shocker- when it deals "any" damage to a player they discard thier hand and draw that many cards. check it out its pretty fun.

Play 3x Forest (eat 3 damage)
Play Crucible of Worlds
Sacrifice 4x Forest to Zuran Orb (gain 8 life)
Play 4x Forest via Fastbond/Crucible (eat 3 damage)
Rinse/Repeat last 2 steps infinitely.

I fetch all 4 my Kokusho, the Evening Star & my opponents loose loose 20 life each while I gain life equal to life lost this way. :D

Alright. Here is your hand:
Polluted Delta
Badlands
Dark Ritual
Dark Ritual
Mox Diamond
Buried Alive
Animate Dead
First, search for Volcanic Island using the Polluted Delta. Then use Mox Diamond, pitching the Badlands. Double Dark Ritual. Buried Alive, getting Worldgorger Dragon, Sliver Queen, and Anger. Animate Dead the Worldgorger Dragon which causes him to infinitely cycle everything in and out of play, tap your Volcanic Island each time it comes in to play. Once you have around 100,000 Man, just target Sliver Queen with your Animate Dead and use all the Mana to make all the Slivers you like. Finally, because of Anger and Volcanic Island working together, swing with Sliver Queen and a immense horde of 1/1 Slivers.

Really? Vintage staples from before wizard's axed everything. Opening hand:
Flash, Summoner's Pact, Mox, Island, Pact of Negation, Force of Will, Ancestral Recall
Turn 1:
Drop your mox, your island, cast summoner's pact, find Protean Collussus and put it in your hand. Then cast flash (with double counter back-up, it's likely to get through), putting Collussus into play. Let it die because of flash, and go thumb through your deck to find 1) Carrion Feeder, 2) Body Double (when Body Double comes into play, have it copy Protean Collussus). Sacrifice Body Double to Carrion Feeder, and now thumb through your library and find Mogg Fanatic, and Revelark. Sacrifice the Mogg to deal 1 bit of gobbo-burn to your opponent, then sacrifice revelark to your carrion feeder to fetch body double (copying revelark) and Mogg Fanatic again. Wash, rinse, repeat, gg turn 1.
The combo may sound complicated, but it's actually remarkably consistant and a deck like this was a real force in Vintage a bit over a year ago, before Flash and all other blue card-drawing awesomeness got restricted.

All right, Opening hand, I have a Black Lotus (1), Mox Ruby (2), Serra Avatar (3), Sneak Attack(4), Mountain (5), and two other cards that are not important, but for the sake of simplicity, two more mountains.
1. Drop Mountain
2. Cast Mox Ruby
3. Cast Black Lotus
4. Activate Black Lotus (3 red mana), Tap Mountain (4 red mana)
5. Cast Sneak Attack
6. Tap Mox Ruby (1 red mana), Activate Sneak Attack, putting Serra Avatar into play as 20/20 with haste.
7. Attack for the win.

I have the cards for this combo in my Arcbound Ravager deck and sideboard. I rarely cycle it in though due to the unlikely chance of drawing it.

1XVault of Whispers
1XMana Vault
1XMana Crypt
1XKrark-Clan Ironworks
Play the land tap it to cast Disciple. Play Mana Crypt tap to cast Mana Vault. The left over 1 mana plus 3 from tapping the Mana Vault are use to cast the Ironworks. Sac the Crypt to the Ironworks for 2 mana and cast a Retriever. Sac the Retriever for 2 to cast the second Retriever. Sac the second Retriever to return the first Retriever to your hand and 2 mana to cast it again. this sets up and infinite Retriever sac loop. Every time an artifact goes to the graveyard Disciple causes target player to lose 1 life.
The bonus is that being an infinite loop you can kill everyone in a multiplayer game.

Zapherion's solution seems to be the most efficient, if not economical. Could replace Frenzy with another Berserk to accomplish it with three unique cards only (all 4th edition!).
Q: Are potential counterspells supposed to be taken into account? Perhaps something to make the opponent empty his hand (i.e. like Mind Twist) to precede the combo to stop any chance of a response?

Opening hand:
1x Elvish Spirit Guide
2x Simian Spirit Guide
1x Violent Outburst
2x Bogardan Hellkite
1x Magister Sphinx
The second you gain priority, exile the spirit guides and cast violent outburst. The deck consists of nothing but huge creatures (kokusho, progenitus, etc, etc). The only card below casting cost 3 will be Hypergenesis. Hypergenesis goes off and you drop the hellkites and sphinx. Hypergenesis does NOT stop until everyone stops so drop away. All come into play effects go onto the stack and after hypergenesis resolves. Since you are the active player, you can order your effects and go off first. So magister sphinx drops the player's life to 10 and the hellkites blast for 5 each. Turn 0 win.

I have a deck and card combination that quickly kills the enemy and you don't even have to attack.
Opening hand
x1 Megrim
x1 Underworld Dreams
x1 Wheel of Fortune
x2 Black Lotus
x1 Dark Ritual
x1 Swamp
Put down your swamp and your two Black Lotus. Tap your swamp and play Dark Ritual then play Underworld Dreams. Use one Black Lotus to play Megrim. Then finally user the other Black Lotus to play Wheel of Fortune which deals your opponent 21 damage.

Flash + Ancient Zigerot/Gemstone Caverns + Lotus Petal + Proten Hulk
for it to work you need to be playing eather and artifact deck or tribe deck
I suggest silvers because Reflex Sliver Gives them all haste...

play the moutain then the rite of flames and the seething song then bring in the bogardens that 20 damage turn one or even if you have to keep goin that is still 4 5/5 on the feild plus one more dragon your can bring out 5

play dark depths and the lotus petal, then sac the petal for a black to cast dark rit. then use that mana to cast the hexmage, sacrifice the hexmage to remove the counters from the dark depths. use the spirit guide for a green mana to give it haste with instill energy. 20/20 indestructible flier in the face :p
you can use concordant crossroads instead of instill energy, or put both in deck to increase chance of draw. you can use black lotus (i dont have any) instead of dark rit, or both. you can use chrome mox + any other green card instead of the spirit guide. or you can use chrome mox + any black card instead of the lotus petal.
rest of my deck is built around getting the cards in hand or on the board with tutor spells incase i cant go off the first turn. "into the north" puts a snow land into play tapped, (dark depths is a snow land)

Cast black lotus to give 3 blue and 6 black mana.
Cast Thopter Foundry, Sword of the Meek, Ashnod's Altar and Disciple of the Vault.
Use the last drop of mana to sac SOM to Thopter Foundry to give you 1 life and 1 1/1 flying thopter.
Sac the flying token to Ashnod to get 2 colourless mana. Rinse and repeat it for 20 times.
Disicple will do 20 damage for the number of times the token goes to graveyard.

Play the mountain
Play both rite of flames (4 Mana)
Play Kiln Fiend for 2 (Get's +3/+0 for each instant or sorcery I've played)
Give it reckless charge for 1 (+3/+0 and haste)
Kiln fiend is a 7/2 with haste now
Give it assault strobe for 1 (double strike)
Kiln fiend is a 10/2 haste double strike and attack for 20 first turn

Since there are so many 1 turn win approaches, here is something a little different. Starting hand is swamp, dark ritual, entomb, exhume/dance of the dead/animate dead.
Turn 1, play swamp, dark ritual, entomb for platinum angel, then animate it. That stops a lot of first turn wins.
Can also change this around so instead of searching library to discard the platinum angel, have it in starting hand, and use blackmail/cabal therapy or similar.
I built a first turn win deck, which often works, and seems no-one wanted to play it:( So built this instead (minus entomb, $30/card is too much for me to be spending)
Let me know your thoughts and what can still beat it:)
Sure it would be much easier to build a pure counter deck that also does not let your opp win, but this just seemed like a giggle.

extremely probable that will happen
you only need a flash or a tutor in hand to get the flash and a protean hulk or summoners pack in hand and the mana

This one is ridiculously expensive, but that's okay:
4 black lotus
1 kazandu tuskcaller
1 emblem of the warmind
1 Intruder alarm.
play and sac the black lotuses for 6G 3R 3U, play intruder alarm using all the blue, 6G 3R. Play the Kazandu Tuskcaller and enchant it with emblem of the warming using all the red and 1 green, 5G. Level up the Kazandu Tuskcaller twice using the green, G is left, but it is not used. Tap Kazandu Tuskcaller to put an elephant token onto the battlefield, Intruder Alarm then has all creatures untap. Repeat infinitely, then hit your opponent for infinite damage.

A first turn win, budget, with no duplicate cards in your starting hand. (It's definitely cheating to use something like 4x Black Lotuses, or a few of the same moxes).
7 card hand would be:
Necrologia, Swamp, Dark Ritual, Lotus Petal, Cabal Ritual, 2 other cards.
Play the swamp, lotus petal. During your end step, cast dark ritual and cabal ritual, and sacrife petal for 5 Black mana total.
Cast Necrologia, paying 19 life to draw 19 cards.
In these cards, assume you will draw what you need, which is (or, if you prefer, include one or two of these as the other cards you have available in your opening hand). Bearing in mind by this point, you will have seen almost half your deck;
2 Crop rotations
Elvish Spirit Guide
Dark Ritual / Cabal Ritual
A combination of Necrologia, Needlebite Traps and SoulSpikes.
Use the Elvish Spirit guide for G. Cast Crop Rotation, sacrificing your swamp, to search for a Grove of the Burnwillows. Tap this to provide G (and giving your opponent 1 life) and cast the second Crop Rotation, searching for a swamp.
Use this swamp for a dark ritual. At this point you will have 3B floating, and threshold (7 or more cards in graveyard). Use 2 mana for Cabal ritual, leaving you with 6 floating.
Cast a couple of soul spikes by removing random black cards from your hand (perhaps duresses / hymn to tourachs etc... whatever you may be playing in your deck). Depending on your opponents life total and your cards in hand, use needlebite traps (which you can cast for 1 mana as the opponent has gained life) or cast another necrologia (which you will be able to cast as you will have gained life from soul spikes).
In total, 2-3 Needlebite traps + 2-3 Soul Spikes will be enough for the 21+ damage needed.
It sounds complicated, but all you really need to get sorted is a resolved necrologia. The rest of the deck plays itself!
