"Casting" a card from you graveyard?
So here's my dilemma. I have a graveyard based deck and I'm considering putting Artisan of Kozilek in it. Artisan of Kozilek's ability says "when you cast Artisan of Kosilek, you may return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand." If I put Artisan of Kozilek into my grave yard with Buried Alive, and the put him on the battlefield with Exhume, is that considered "casting" him? And because his ability says, "return" target creature card to the battlefield, would that apply to creatures who were never on the battlefield but yet in a graveyard?

No, returning him from the graveyard is not casting, and will not trigger any effects that trigger from casting.
Yes, you can return a creature that is in the graveyard but was never on the battlefield.
