2012 core set

According to SCG, they have already spoiled a bunch of the cards. 15 of 249 to be exact. Sorin Markov looks to be the only planeswalker right now but im sure there will be more.

Yep, one of the news sites got a full booster pack to open, lots of vampires, and some of the white creatures are looking really awesome.

Gideon's Lawkeeper at common; Gideon's Avenger at uncommon. Based on past precedent of printing cards referencing specific planeswalkers, it's obvious we'll be seeing Gideon himself.

So, will we also be seeing Nissa, Koth, and Tezzeret representing the 'walker 'B' team?

I'm never really excited about core sets. I gotta say though that the Titans were awesome, so hopefully they can do something as good as them, but from what's spoiled so far, I'm not real impressed. I don't know if I really like the Bloodthirst either. Doesn't seem all that good. Oh well. Just have to wait and see more of the set.

Although, I have to say, it's cool to see Sengir Vampire back. But with power creep, he just isn't as cool as he used to be.

The five planeswalkers in the advertisements have been Gideon, Sorin, Jace, Garruk, and Chandra. We don't know which versions of those are being printed except Sorin, although I expect it'll be Gideon Jura, Jace Beleren (eff you Mindsculptor), Garruk Wildspeaker, and Chandra Nalaar.

if thats the case then im pumped. i've always been a fan of garruk and i honestly prefer chandra ablaze for my red aggro but, i don't mind trying out nalaar.

Actually if they do reprint JTMS his price will fall, making him more available to more people, instead of just rich kids and pros... lol

well if they do print out that many planeswalkers, it will make buying a box more reasonable. I have the worst luck when drawing for them. i bought to boxes of scars, and 2 boxes of besieged.....not a single planeswalker! hopefully with 2012, maybe....just maybe, i'll have better luck:p

I don't think any reprinted planeswalker in M12 will actually be worth buying a full box for, so I would just buy the ones you want to use as singles. Core sets just aren't worth much.

yeah, that sucks. the only one i would be interested in is nalaar but, even that isn't worth it. where did you guys find the information on who is being reprinted?

I'm not sure where anyone else finds this stuff, but I usually check out gatheringmagic.com for spoilers.

But will it actually make much of an impact on his price? When Baneslayer Angel was reprinted in M11, it didn't really but a dent in the card's price tag. Reprinting JtMS might only succeed in keeping him in Standard longer, which may not be the direction Wizards (or anyone else) wants to go.

what they need to do is bring nicol bolas back. BUT, and thats a big one, they need to fix his mana cost...it was a tad bit rediculous.

Ya, you're right. I doubt it is JTMS, I was just thinking it wouldn't be too bad. Even if it did drop the price, I doubt it will ever go below $70. Even at that drop, alot of people who aren't serious tourney players still wouldn't buy it. But I do think it will be Beleren.

If they ever reprint a card, they won't ever change the CC of it, unless they made another version of it. I doubt they will ever make a new planeswalker in a coreset, only reprints.
