Probably the best iPhone app

I'm the author of iMtG, which is one of the best, if not the best MTG app for iPhone. It has fully featured life counter, offline database with prices and unique way to search cards by scanning them with camera, deck builder, and it's free to download with optional in app purchases. Tell me what you think: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/imtg/id412798013?mt=8

While I'm sure that it's a nice app, please remember that this board is for general discussion of MTG, and not a billboard for people to advertise.

You are absolutely right that my motivation was to advertise it, yet at the same time I'm happy to discuss 'ifs and buts' of iMtG and quite often people on forums have lots of good ideas and can tell me what they would like to improve, or what have you. Not too many software authors actually reach out to their audience, I think.

At the end of the day 'This forum is for you to chat about anything related to the Magic: The Gathering' and iMtG clearly is ;)

Fair enough, just giving an over-all...warning...(for complete lack of a better word =/) not just to you, but to a few others who have been advertising their stuff here.

And, to start this thing rolling along, does this app of yours keep track of multiple life totals for multiplayer games?

Yes, but only up to 10 players I'm afraid

Seriously, of course it does - together with full tracking of general damage for EDH. I wouldn't dare calling it 'one of the best if not the best' if it didn't do that. And if someone complains that they need support for more than 10 players I can add it - I left it out for now as I don't think these games actually happen in real life - where I play we always split into two tables when there's more than 8 of us - otherwise the wait is just unbearable - especialy when the bloody :manau: players like myself are involved :D
Yes, but only up to 10 players I'm afraid
I've yet to play a 10-player (or more) game of Magic. I don't think I'd want to, given the opportunity. I love multiplayer, but once you have more than six players things just take much too long.

Anyway, my friend uses that app and it really is useful. I have to give you credit on a job well done!

1.8.0 is out, which makes iMtG even more probably the best mtg app for iOS ;)

I fixed dodgy method of database upgrade, dramatically improved look and feel in Deck Builder, and applied a lot of general TLC to the app.

Still free, so enjoy! http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/imtg/id412798013?mt=8&ls=1

Silly question: does it work on iPad?

Why silly, it's a good question. No it doesn't work on iPad, not in a proper way. You can run it on iPad but it will run in iPhone simulator.

I'm working on it though and I plan to include iPad support in version 2.0, and in a proper way by making iMtG universal app, not by splitting it into HD version. This is important as it means you wont have to pay twice for the in-app purchases you already made (as is the case with our competitors ;)).

Great job on the app. One quick question: Anyway to restore in-app purchases?

Yes, using the standard Apple way. You can check the tutorial here: http://imtgapp.com/iMtG/Support/Support.html

The tutorial is also accessible in app via Support and Feedback -> Help.

It worked! Thanks for the help. It's always scary re-purchasing things. You hope you don't get charged twice.

Glad to be of service. In the meantime, 1.18.1 is the current version and there's been a lot of improvements done since I last posted here. Next version is close to being finished and will be out probably in a couple weeks. You can check my twitter @ghromm for development updates.
