Tomorrow's updated ban list

As most of you know, Wizards only updates the Banned and Restricted list 4 times a year. The next update comes in tomorrow, June 20th.

As far as Standard is concerned, I feel there are several cards worthy of being banned. However, I honestly don't see Wizards banning a single card from Standard.

Here are my full predictions and justifications: http://ggxgames.blogspot.com/2011/06/june-20th-and-what-it-could-mean-to.html

Anyone have any thoughts on it?

Other cards you feel that could be banned?

I've heard people saying they think Valakut should be banned, that Splinter Twin might see the list, and several other cards. What's your reasoning behind them?

I'd like to point out that personally, I fell that Caw-Blade is a very degenerate strategy. It is the best combination of control and aggro, and is able to do it with very few cards, leaving them able to throw in extra "toolbox" type cards to handle other strategies even better. I would love nothing more than to see all 3 of the cards I listed banned, I just don't see it happening.

I strongly doubt anything will be banned from standard.

To my knowledge standard stuff rarely gets banned...and with a handful of months remaining before all the "broken" stuff cycles, wizards would be kinda stupid banning some speculated stuff such as stoneforge. I hope JTMS gets hit though, cause they even admitted it was a bad mistake.....don't think stoneforge will get hit though cause they JUST made it easier to obtain with the event decks...

The announcement just went up. Both Stoneforge Mystic and Jace, the Mind Sculptor are banned in Standard.

Well I already have 2x Jace, So I hope he drops in price so I can complete my set for legacy play.

He'll probably drop down to the $40-$50 range since he still sees so much play in legacy and extended.

true, but for some reason valakut never really gave me a hard time where i play at, and the splinter twins you rarely see here which, i have absolutely no complaints about that lol everyone, and i mean EVERYONE at fnm was running some form of cawblade so, for once, they will be forced to play something they aren't comfortable with or unfamiliar and give me a chance to come in and enjoy myself a little while everyone else figures themselves out again:)

I don't care for Standard much, but I did here the announcement and I think Wizards did the right thing by banning Jace. It would have been really easy to sit back and let the card rotate out in a few months. But they actually admitted to making a mistake, and fixed it on principle. They may have been a little late in doing so, but I don't know if Jace was as dominant back in December as he is presently. In any case, at least they did something eventually.
