U/W Scepter deck q's
Finally put this up:
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=201042
made it from the stuff I pulled out of other decks, just wondering where I could swap out better cards and keep the budget low around $30-$40 for the modifications. I use it as a casual 2HG deck or for casual 1vs1 with friends.
I was thinking of replacing the two muddles with enlightend and mystical tudors. Dunno where I could throw in a orms chant or two since they're a bit pricey, any ideas on land replacement? I like the factories as well as the dust bowl and strip mine for a little ld but should I just keep the mana focused on generating u/w? I figure with the control I could just beatdown with the factories and conclaves though I don't like the conclaves coming into play tapped. Any alternatives/suggestions? Maybe change the sb a bit as well?

Modified my U/W Scepter-Chant Control deck a bit with the following:

Are the any replacement suggestions besides the modifications I did? These are all the cards I have at the moment to make the deck what it is above. I'm still thinking about fitting in a Mystical Tutor &/or Merchant Scroll. I just picked up the Mox Pearl today to keep as a collector but figured I'd be able to proxy it in, in my deck with the rest of the fun stuff. Along the way I got a playset of Remands but I actually am not liking them too much and put back in the Accumulated Knowledges. Let me know what I could take out and revise including the sideboard to make the deck vintage legal without having to spend anymore than say $30-40 on it.

Nah I actually traded in a hp Candelabra of Tawnos and lp ul Forcefield for it lol! I didn't want to cash out on them so I figured I'd better pickup a mp ul mox pearl as I like to collect the older cards. I've only played casually on and off since getting into the game when beta/unlimited started but haven't played much recently in the past year or so. I'm not familiar with some of the other possibilities that might help speed up the deck. The only other card I could think of replacing was the accum knowledges with abeyances. I still am not sure where I'd throw in a mystical tutor at this point, don't even know if its needed. Likewise the same goes for merchant scroll and mana vault...

wel it's a strange deck you've got there. It's to annoying to be fun but not strong enough to be vintage tournament viable (lacking cards that can interact as of turn 0). You should trade that mox for a bunch of strong legacy cards that actually do more for you then a single mox. One mox isn't doing anything for a deck and buying the rest of the P9 is kinda crazy.
Now if you could trade that mox (in a shop maybe) for a The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale + a Moat. Both value cards and they will do a lot more for your deck.
The way I would attack your deck would be to play pithing Needle and Null Rod. You've got bounce to get rid of them but it's a matter of finding a solution before getting killed. Green decks will side in Krosan Grip and you can't do anything about it. I think Enlightened tutor is very important for your deck (I know you can play 4 in legacy but I don't know about Vintage as I don't play the format) to find either crucible or the next scepter. To me that crucible is the scariest thing in the deck.
I would also play 4xBrainstorm. I know it's restricted in vintage but it is not banned in legacy and in casual play people wil usually allow you to play 4 if it's legacy legal even if you mix the deck with vintage only cards.
The worst thing about the deck, IMO, for casual play is that it is so slow. Your manlands are the only way you can win and games can take forever with you locking every turn before your opponent finally dies.

Seth,
thanks for the recommendations - I have a few other beta and alpha cards that I may hope trade up for a Tabernacle/Moat. Fortunately my freelance work has picked up and I managed to get FoWs into the deck as well as a Tundra. What do you think of the deck revisions now? Its really bad with mana still but if I play vintage Type 1 I figure I *might* be able to survive the 1st round assuming I have 1 or 2 FoW's with some blue cards in starting hand. Besides the mana I'm also trying to figure out how to speed up the searching for key cards without having to splash black in it. I put in the merchant scroll and mystical tutor and removed one muddle to the sb. Should I take out another arcane denial and throw in a force spike or island/faerie conclave/get a wasteland?

Now that wizards printed the 5 Commander decks many people start playing the format. If you know some people who bought the decks you might be able to trade the new card flusterstorm (it's in the deck Political Puppets), it's crazy good in your format and for Commander/casual players it's pretty useless.
