Melira, Sylvok Outcast vs Grasp of Darkness

Would the -4/-4 effects of Grasp of Darkness effect my creatures if Melira is on the board. It doesnt say counters in the text, and I need to know.

Grasp of Darkness will still effect your creatures if Melira, Sylvok Outcast is on the field.

Merlia ONLY has an effect on.

Physical -1/-1 counters trying to be placed on a permanent.
Creatures your opponents control that have infect.
Physical poison counters trying to be placed on you.

Grasp of Darkness will continue working as normal because it does not explicitly state any of these conditions.


General rule of thumb: Cards in mtg do EXACTLY what they say they do. No more, no less.

grasp of darkness still affects your creatures but black sun's zenith won't do a thing to your creatures
