Ded Challenge: 200th deck
Anyone who checks my Vault profile will see that (at time of typing this) I have 199 decks and to celebrate my 200th deck, I'm posting a challenge.
The challenge is to challenge me to make a deck of any type you suggest, but I can only choose one challenge so make it sound interesting or I won't do it. The person who's challenge I accept will get a special mention on the deck. I'll post a link to the deck here when I do it.
Rules:
1) Have fun
2) Cut off date for challenging me is 08:00 Sat 23 July 2011 +2 GMT (my time zone)
The challenges I like so far:
Poxtraction / PAL [Poxtraction Agrrolock] (surewhynot)
An Earthbind deck (Pauliuk)
An archaeology themed deck (Prizrak)
And the winner is - Prizrak :D
I chose to do the archaeology themed deck because it sounded like fun:
200th Ded - Archaeological Dig

Make an Extraction! :D
Either Iso-Seek, or Poxtraction (Make a PAL [Poxtraction Agrrolock] design if you're really feeling adventurous)

Lol, I was kind of hoping you'd be first :p
Questions, I know what Iso-Seek is, but what's Poxtraction? Use Pox or Smallpox to get cards in grave to Surgical Extraction or Haunting Echoes them?

What about something were you really go against the colors. Like a blue or black stompy deck, or a white burn deck. A deck that challenges the colors and yourself could be a nice way to celebrate the 200.

Use Pox (and more modern designs also tend to run 1 of both Curse of the Cabal and Living End) and then after those, use Bitter Ordeal. Often the "BitterBomb" that results will completely destroy someone's deck.
About 1-2 years ago a few Extraction players (I was part of this effort) worked to make a Poxtraction design that could be a competitive alternative to the current best Extraction design, Iso-Seek. The result was Poxtraction Aggrolock, or "PAL". It's often :manab::manau::manag: in color and is a strange mix of lockdown control and aggro. I'll link you to both my :manab::manau::manag: design, and my :manaw::manab::manau::manag:

I would like to suggest a Psychosis Crawler deck. Possibly giving it infect and drawing away.

Already got one based off of Psychosis Crawler, but I'm still not happy with it so I haven"t posted it on the Vault.

Here it is... A deck around the limited use of Earthbind. Sorry I just really love this card and I wish I could see what people can do with a playset in a main deck. I know this will be an unlikely pick for this challagne but no harm in trying :)

As awesome a card Earthbind is, it's more of a situational card (ie sideboard material) than a mainboard card, but I will look into ways to manipulate it :p

Congrats on your approaching 200th! Here are some ideas as I drift around through Gatherer.
- Win with Ink-Treader Nephilim
- Phyrexia has infected House Dimir
- Ravnica block. After game 1, switch guilds with the sideboard
- Win with Helix Pinnacle without infinite mana. Alternate win condition: stalling the game until your opponent dies of natural causes.
- An archaeology themed deck ('cause I study it!)
- In honour of your 200th deck, a Battle of Wits deck. BONUS: Make it a creatureless deck and include Proteus staffs to bring battle of wits to the top. O__O

What would you consider to 'feel' like an Archaeological deck? I'm thinking that cards from Zendikar would have the closest affect.

I know but I think I made a good deck to force that situation.

Try building a tribal deck based around some obscure creature type.

Yes, Zendikar has a lot of great cards for that - the expeditions, the legendary lands, ruins filled with traps &c.
Another take on it (or another aspect to the deck) could be artifact recursion - after all, archaeologists are well known for taking artifacts out of graveyards. "Argivian Archaeologist" would of course be perfect. =)
"Soldevi" cards seem to be part of an archaeology story that I'm unfamiliar with - you could use some gems like Soldevi Excavations.
EDIT: ooh, and there's a new M2012 "Buried Ruin" that's also artifact recursion
