Deck Challenge: Extraction on a Budget
This is mostly aimed at surewhynot, our resident extraction expert, but anyone may feel free to contribute.
It's a simple challenge. Build an Extraction deck on a budget (sub $40). Any format and any color, although :manab:/:manaw: would be preferred (I like hide/seek :p).
It's always been a play style I've been interested in but shy'd away from do to the usually high cost of an effective deck.
Good luck and I look forward to the submissions.

Question, do you want a budget Iso-Seek and/or PAL design? Those are the two dominant types...but there are a number of other types that are quite budget-friendly, but nowhere near as powerful as those two.
Tell ya what, I'll try to work up a budget version of one of those either way...

I do like Iso-seek but I feel it's almost too cheap. Not in the monetary sense, more like my buddies saying "Yeah, I'm not gonna play against that deck anymore."
Come to think of it, maybe that's the whole appeal of extraction :D. As far as PAL, I'm unfamiliar with it.

Though this appears to be somewhat of an internal challenge here's my two cents, barely keeping the estimated budget at low.

In essence the deck is built on 3 phases;
* Ghostly Prison/Silent Arbiter to lock out your opponents ability to attack you, piling up creatures for dead mana.
* A well played Alliance of Arms to trick your opponent to pay mana for piling up more creatures (as well as giving you blockers).
* Planar Collapse to clear the board and fuel a Bitter Ordeal, since it's delayed you'll have the mana to pay for it.
You could probably build a plausable deck around it if you up the price tag.

That's not bad. I like learning about new cards :) Planar Collapse fits perfectly with Iso-Seek and can (potentially) fuel a T3 Bitterbomb, faster but less powerful than a T5 or 6 Pox.
I'm going to have to play around with that a little bit :)

Nice submission DavidF. I haven't experimented with that combo before but do you find your opponents falling for the alliance of arms trick often and if not, does it hold up defensively on its own?
