Guild Mage Redirect

Let us say that that you have an izzet guildmage on the field, and unlimited fire mana, and at least two one island, hypothetically. If you cast serum visions could you, having infinite red mana, then copy it infinitely using guildmage, and redirect the effects towards your opponent? Instant Mill?

Serum Visions does not target a player, it simply affects the player casting it.

so no, it cannot be redirected to make your opponent draw cards.

With infinite red mana, you could copy Sign in Blood infinite times and target your opponent with each because Sign in Blood has the words "target player", and is a sorcery with converted mana cost two or less.

The problem with visions is that it lacks the words "target player", and it can therefore not target a player.

fireball.............

just use Wistful Thinking or Stroke of Genius or Blue Sun's Zenith if you want to mill your opponent, Braingeyser or Deep Analysis will do the trick too.

but none of those are valid targets for the guildmage's ability either...or are you just naming cards that cause target player to draw?

---

the classic guildmage combo is with Lava Spike and Desperate Ritual, :manar::manar::manar::mana3: lets you do infinite damage.

It doesn't need to be a :manar: sorcery:

[QUOTE="Izzet Guildmage"]
:mana2::manau:: Copy target instant spell you control with converted mana cost 2 or less. You may choose new targets for the copy.

Does not mention a color anywhere.

the basic premise of his question involved "unlimited fire mana"

guildmage doesn't require a red sorcery, but sign in blood does requires black mana.
