Enchantment card Pacifism

If a pacifism card is put onto a creature that can attack/block/ and has ability. Can that ability be played.. Even tho the creature isnt attacking or blocking?

Since the enchantment says "target creature cant attack or block"

The ability can still be activated if Pacifism is attached.

exception: the ability requires the creature to attack for the ability to activate

Cards do EXACTLY what they say they do, no more, no less. If a card does not mention thing X, the card does not affect X.



A completely unrelated card that prevents abilities from being activated: Arrest

yes, abilities can still be activated in this case, the creature simply cannot attack or block.
