two conflicting effects

What happens if there are two cards in play, one of which says one thing and the other says the opposite? What if, for example, one player plays a Platinum Angel and it resolves (you can't loose and opponents can't win) and then later another player plays a card that says "target player looses the game" and targets the player with the Platinum Angel? Does the card the was in play first have priority? Can someone point me to a rule that would govern this sort of situation?

Thanks!

if platinum angel came into play first and resolved and then the second type is played that was mentioned, angel takes priority as long as it is still on the field. So the angel owner, can't lose:D

The effect that says something "can't" or "doesn't" always wins.

As long as platinum angel is on the field, you cannot lose. Period. Full-stop. End of sentence.

Whats fun is when Platinum Angel and Abyssal Persecutor are on the field at the same time under your control. Its the neverending game., until one of them dies.
